We're so excited to welcome you to the heart of Times Square for an unforgettable New Year celebration.
For the comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests, we ask that you kindly review the following.
Important Things to Know During Your Stay on New Year’s Eve
- Outside alcohol is not permitted.
- Parties in guest rooms are not permitted.
- Guaranteed ball-drop views are available only from Skyline King or Skyline Suite room categories.
Accessing the Hotel:
- NYPD will close off our street starting at 10am on Dec. 31, re-opening on Jan. 1 around 4am.
- We will provide you with documentation to show NYPD so you can come and go from the hotel, however you will only be able to access the hotel from the corner of 41st and 6th Ave. Broadway will be closed, so guests will not be able to access the hotel from that approach.
- Due to street closures, the parking garage will not be accessible on Dec. 31 and we will not be able to retrieve or deliver vehicles. If you think you will need access to your vehicle during this time, please contact us so that we can assist in finding alternate arrangements.
Access Within the Hotel:
- AperiBar's dining room, lounge, and bar will be open until 8pm. At 9pm the space becomes dedicated to the New Year's Eve Party, accessible only to guests who have purchased tickets as part of their reservation.
- Access to elevators will be restricted to registered guests only. Security will be stationed at the elevators and all guests must have a room key or mobile key for access.
Visit the official Times Square website for information about public events. Please note that staying at LUMA does not guarantee access to the heart of Times Square. Guests who attend our New Year's Eve Party will have access to watch the ball drop from 42nd Street (at NYPD discretion, as always). However, if you want to be within Times Square itself, you will need to line up at one of the entry locations, which we recommend doing early on the morning of Dec. 31 in order to secure a good spot.
The team at LUMA Times Square wishes one and all a safe and Happy New Year!
