Whitney Biennial 2024: Even Better Than the Real Thing
The Whitney Museum's landmark exhibition series is the longest-running survey of American art. The 2024 Biennial features the work of 71 artists and collectives, working across media and disciplines and addressing many of the most relevant ideas of our time.
With a focus on notions of “the real,” the 2024 Biennial presents an examination of reality through various connections between artists, material, and ideas. The exhibition acknowledges that today, society is at a critical inflection point, brought on by the introduction of machine learning models to daily life and media, including the use of artificial intelligence, and society’s complex relationship to the body, the fluidity of identity, and the precariousness of the natural world.
Pro Tip: Admission to the Whitney is free on Friday nights from 5pm to 10pm, and on the second Sunday of the month. Advance tickets are recommended.
